We were hoping for a resort-style place to unwind for a day before we travelled to Sapa. We arrived at 6am hoping for an early check-in. Breakfast was sparse and tastes awful - this place had the worst selection we have encountered so far. The place feels eerie, like you're in a horror movie. Everything smells like cigarette smoke. The only other guests we saw were what looked like Chinese high rollers coming across the border to gamble.
One of the rooms we stumbled into, near the pool, was almost pitch black and full of empty liquor bottles. Speculate that it's for strippers and the hotel doubles as a brothel. We didn't stay and weren't reimbursed. Instead we were charged an exorbitant fee for a 5 minute taxi to the bus station.
Looks vey much as luxury hotel, but this is a casino hotel. Smoking is everywhere inside, drunk people, loud music from the bar. We were in floors 8 and 10 and the noise was like hammer on you head. Food is very very bad and expensive, very expensive. Stuff don't speak English. Room is clean and fair. This hotel has lots of space. Doesn't worth the money. We have meeting and doing some survey in Lao Cai City, The staff at the lobby quiet helpful but the English still can understand, most of the staff able to speak very well in Chinese and Vietnamese, The room is nice and clean, the restaurant at the lobby is ok, the food order quiet slow, They also have swimming pool, Spa Center, Karaoke, Entertainment Club, also have food court in the basement, The only 5 Star Hotel in Town,.
This is a casino hotel in Lao Cai. A room is big and a bed is comfortable. Staffs are nice but can speak a little bit in English, normally they speak Vietnamese and Chinese.
Breakfast is ok. Anyway I think this is not a 5 stars hotel, 4 stars maybe. New and luxury hotel with all basic facilities equipped. Clean and spacious room with a nice view overlooking the city. The food is served in a small amount but delicious. Drink coupons are given for free when going the bar of the hotel. Stay in this hotel during the 1 day tour to Sapa. Well managed hotel , staff was polite and provide good service. So many facilities provided by the hotel , tennis court , swimming pool , massage center , karaoke center ,as well as casino.
