There are not any spas that I would recommend in the City Center not to mention most won't open until mid-day. What type of services are you looking for? I am in coming in on a very early flight from the US and would like to get a massage upon landing. I've only been to one of those Chinese massage parlours on Geldersekade once. It wasn't great. The thing about some of those Chinese places is they pretend they understand you, but I don't think their English is that good and so they just end up doing their standard massage routine.
Asking for extra attention for sore shoulders or calves or things like that, won't really work. But it's about half the price of what Dutch masseurs would ask.
I found this for massages near Dam square. You could do a similar search for 'sauna' over here, spa is a glass or bottle of still water :- , some of the results might be gay saunas though. Spa Zuiver okay sometimes we use the English term is one of Amsterdam's most famous spa resorts.
You may also enjoy Koan Float. I have no personal experience with them. Sorry, I didn't see your post 2. There is a massage parlour and a spa at Schiphol airport.
